TIGRESS WITHIN

TIGRESS WITHIN

A Poem by Mother Maggie

Author's Note

Mother Maggie
Within her core
She crouches
Growling deep and low
Eyes flashing in darkness
Missing nothing
Each heinous deed counted and weighed

Twitching tail, flexing claws, gleaming fangs
Every muscle poised
Craving justice

Enraged mother tigress
Crouches within me
Waiting—desiring vengeance
Silently roaring

To rend—to tear
To slake my tongue
In the blood of the vile
To purge the darkness
From this world
To quench the rage
Flaming in my soul

Within my core
She crouches
Growling deep and low
Eyes flashing in darkness
Missing nothing
And I’ve counted and weighed each heinous act
Mother Tigress roars
Retribution echoes from the abyss

Very nice,
I really enjoyed the relation to a stalking cat and the need for justice. We live in a world where we all feel like the caged animal. this is a perfect write to display breaking free of that cage, righting wrongs and finding vengeance.
Nice write.
