to my dear sister

to my dear sister

A Poem by AutumnBelle

I miss you like a bird and its safe place.
I walk alone in a snow globe sometimes.
I cry at the most ridiculous things- because they remind me of our childhood.
I want to sit on the roof and watch the glitter trail of fireworks while
Tasting the sweetness of ice cream on my tongue.
Really.
I want to be in the middle of a million fragrant pine trees drenched
In ice in Virginia with you.
Sitting on a hill.
Stargazing.
I miss our porch swing and listening to the chorus of crickets on a summer night.
Sipping our lemonade or sweet tea.
I'm sorry for every cross word, selfish intention and angry silence.
You're such an evidence of grace in my life.
A truly beautiful person.
Made in God's image.
Loved.

Your words are so beautifully heartbreaking. This is a gorgeous poem with such lovely imagery and sadness that I had to read it a few times to really grasp it. This is a lovely write, great job.
