The Silliness of a Hero Costume

The Silliness of a Hero Costume

A Poem by Double T

Superheroes are so silly

They can get a little Willy

The costumes are weird

Like having candy on a beard

Their names are goofy

Like parents naming their children

After their childhood fantasies

Superheroes can come to life in color

Richly drawn by the crayons of life

On the paper of boredom

To create art in a special treat of wonders

Whenever you a cosplay

You look silly on the outside

But you feel special on the inside

Color brings life and levity

To a world that’s too dark and mature

It needs lighten up and have fun

If you strip down the costume

From the colors to aesthetic

You think you’re mature and dark

When in reality, you are being cynical

Like the P.O.V of a fourteen year old

Colors make a mature life worth living

With the ingredients of diversity and wisdom

Adding a touch of humor and levity

It makes a good treat of lurid meaning

Costumes are fit to anyone

From men to women

To show their colors

In a world that toxics masculinity

While ignoring diversity

Costumes may bring silliness

But they can bring life

With the color of personality

The inspiration of this came from watching Netflix's Jessica Jones.

The color in the words add context to the point I am trying to make.
