Golden BoyA Poem by Lola NadTribute to my first real friend, my cat, who died many years agoThe darkness of the forest puts my mind at rest The coldness of the wind erases my sorrows. But the cry of the wild cat brings you back in my head And the dark wings of time enter my mind. Like a bittersweet melody, Hidden in the whirlpool of my memories You’re still here, Hiding from me. I still wish you weren’t gone, I still wish I could see you I still wish I could feel you My Golden Boy in the Shadows. The softness of your fur And the sharpness of your claws Have put in my heart A still bleeding scar. And even after all this time I still miss you You were always by my side And now, I am like a dying butterfly. © 2016 Lola NadReviews
