Dying Song

Dying Song

A Poem by Kaelee Wyant
"

I think everyone can relate to this at one time or another. This is actually a song I wrote but it could be a poem too.

"
Been away a long time now
I just wanna tell you how
How much I miss you

Yeah I know we went too fast
Thinking that our love would last
But I guess I always knew

That everything we used to have
Just couldn't last
Love is like a broken mirror
Can't fix the shattered glass

While my heart told me it was right
My head said it was wrong
Yet my soul kept on telling me
It would die with this song

Now the truth comes out
What this songs about
I'm so over this

You just need a clue
No I'm not missing you
It's the memories that I missed

And everything we used to have
Just couldn't last
Love is like a broken mirror
Can't fix the shattered glass

While my heart told me it was right
My head said it was wrong
Yet my soul kept on telling me
It would die with this song

And I bet she's sweet
She writes you every day
And you actually listen
To what she has to say
And who you want her to be
Well she will never be me

Cause everything we used to have
Just couldn't last

Author's Note

Kaelee Wyant
This is written about my ex. The day he left for the military he told me that he never wanted to talk to me again and that he found someone else. Instead of getting mad or crying I just wrote this.
