BLACK WOMAN

BLACK WOMAN

BLACK WOMAN

Black woman

From a black man

Know wonder sometimes I forget that I am the weaker vessel

In stamina that is

My intellect

My vision

My hope

My forceful collision with truth

I learn from my youth and it is

Embedded in my genes

Strength that is may not be seen

With the naked eye

But it underlies all that I do

How could I receive anything less from you?

Black woman

As vast as the Indian Ocean

And as fruitful as the hills of Lebanon

As valuable as the Salts found at the ends of the earth

We must always remember our worth

The joys of giving birth and never ending what Jehovah started

Celebrating differences and not letting retard what is- and created good

I have stood in commune with

My Lord,

My Father

My Creator and Confidant

And in the abundance of HIS wisdom I have nothing to be ashamed of

My pigment a testament to his greatness

This fact cannot escape us

Black woman

A fierce mother lioness

With the smoothness of black onyx

And the refinement of black sand

A diamond hidden at the base of a volcano deep inside of the motherland

Home is where she makes it

Family is protected to the death even if it is done by oneself

Her man’s right hand and most trusted companion

A champion

The most refreshing creature that brings her Rain Forest downpours to you

Tropical and sultry

A most desirable being

A warrior queen

Given us through the Sons of Ham

  I AM

A BLACKWOMAN

nice poem, though we could argue lineage for days, Ham is connected to Egyptians or so the records state, a difference from some African aspects of history, my direct lineage comes from Ephraim, one of the twelve tribes...Ham being the youngest son of Noah...Noah cursed Ham and to this day the birth of slavery as we know it...the curse also darken ham's skin, so was Noah white? ...I find it interesting at best...

Baby...you are one amazing poetess. A High Priestess of The MOST HIGH.Not ashamed of your race, celebrating your inheritance in Him. We are mirrors of His Spirit. A testament to His Grace...I might shout...
"All glorious within"...

I like this poem. I love history. I live in Detroit. I tell the young black kids. Learn your history. You came from a great people. In the year 1000 B.C. Africa had the education and strength to control the world. I tell them stories of men who fought in the WW2 and Korea to show the USA. Black men can fight and are strong. I like your poetry. I push the young people to be strong and proud of what they are. My father killed two men in bar fights for calling him a dirty Mexican. He fought in two wars. Your poetry need to be read and understood. Many people have died for freedom. We must fight to keep it.

Thank you for your amazing poetry.
