The RoseA Poem by BL4KB1RDFinally getting to recent work- this one circa 2013.
Once I dreamed of you and me
Walking 'cross a pitch black sea To an island full of flowers Amongst ancient torn down towers I wondered which I'd pick for you Before you choose to pass on through The red rose spoke eternal love But hinted toward a mourning dove I kept on walking down the road To where all roses flowed The yellow rose spoke of trust But lacked an innocent lust Frantic searching through the rows Looking for the perfect rose The white rose spoke of purity But offered no other security Looking for a rose just right Filled my soul with small fright The blue rose spoke of thought But any other feeling not I was running out of time Losing the perfect rhyme The pink rose spoke of cheer But hinted at a hidden tear As my face was turning white The perfect rose caught my sight The rose that lived eternal So I hid it in my journal The rose I gave you as a gift As your feelings started to shift I could see your eyes the wonder Just maybe it was a blunder? So then I told you what I felt Which caused your heart to melt Everything I said is true As the rose I gave to you The color of the rose I gave Is reminiscent of the grave But then explained in contrast The black rose said we'd everlast © 2014 BL4KB1RDAuthor's Note
