~~~Death Grinned~~~A Poem by BL4KB1RDFebruary, 2017
Oh my soul- oh my heart I'm gripping
Holding fast to what's ripping As my tears fall among rain dripping And I push forward despite my tripping What's it like to live to crawl 6 feet small and 2 feet tall Broken down all in all Feeling like you're about to fall Try to resist the daily fumble Keep walking as you crumble Just once more before you tumble As a broken boy you stumble Keep on walking against the wind Punishment for all you've sinned Against the rock you've been pinned Death looked at you and grinned To your knees you finally fell At the feet of the Angel from Hell In this moment try not to dwell As you're dragged to your unholy cell Through the years and white-knuckled fists I've come to learn nothing exists That can keep you from life's horrid twists That can keep your blade from your wrists And now tonight in hell you sleep Because you cut just once too deep And everything you fought to keep Crashed to the floor at Death's feet © 2017 BL4KB1RD |
