Decay

Decay

A Poem by Pen The Willows
"

Not about me. Just a general poem.

"

Her mind decays

Her body decays

Her life decays

She decays

A constant cycle

Cigarettes

Alcohol

Drugs

Each last a week,

Maybe more,

Maybe less,

Each addiction ends

Onto the next one

The next fix

Anything that's illegal

She'll buy

She doesn't care about the decay

In fact, some say she welcomes it

She calls to it in a caressing voice

Telling it to come in

She doesn't want to live

But can't seem to take her own life

Allows the stimulants and depressants

To slowly kill her from the inside out

She claws at her face

Her arms

Her torso

Her legs

The drugs,

The alcohol,

The cigarettes.

They are causing her to go insane

Her mind decays

Her body decays

Her life decays

She decays

Truly an amazing poem! This graphically describes both the damage caused by addictions, and the not caring about the damage. This is a poem that makes you think... Good form, and the words flowed well. This is easily one of your best poems.
