Bygone

Bygone

A Poem by Pen The Willows

I used to remember you.

What you looked like,

What you spoke like,

What you liked to do.

But that was years ago.

As time has gone on,

I’ve met more people,

I’ve done more things.

You’ve become unimportant.

But it’s not your fault,

It’s just the way things are.

Every year,

I think of you.

And every year,

It’s harder to remember it all.

What you looked like,

What you spoke like,

What you liked to do.

And I force myself to think harder,

But that makes it all the more blurry.

I think of you,

And remember happiness,

But that is all.

This is so great. It feels contemplative and sad but still joyful.
