Untitled 8

Untitled 8

A Poem by J. B.
"

A poetic piece about the struggle of finding and fighting for equality among genders and race.

"
People tell me "Be true to yourself."
Don't become like "them."
Continue to be a poet.
But to me, there is no difference between the two,
just between me and you.
In a form of expression this becomes a confession.
Capitalism catapults to capitalize on the depression of you and me,
the separation of "we"

Can you see it?

To overcome the hate and discrimination, you must look at its foundation.
Find the relation to the reflection in the mirror,
and you will see it clearer.

To not be angry is to be without conviction.
Passion and compassion are only separated by that of action,
which in a world of billions is only done by a fraction.

Go ahead; speak out and stand against the division
But first make sure you are not a reason for the divide
and THAT will take swallowing your pride to confide in the reflection of yourself.

Staring eye to eye with the enemy in your bathroom mirror.

Exactly. We are so blinded by righteous sides and powerful movements we forget the whole point of peace. Fighting for what you believe in doesn't always require actual fighting. More over when we work together we make more of an impact. There is no me or them only us and we. Very nicely done.

'Untitled 8,

It is good to pay attention. What do we see in our selves? What is discrimination really? You speak of hate in this writing. Kindness goes a long way. This planet we all live on is full of so much need. I think some times that is we were to act and give to that need this place would be a much more nurturing home for all.

most avoid that eye contact... and I have been dubious of the magic mirror that hangs on my wall.. I think it will lie if it gets the chance..

How true and how marvelous it is when you know that you have already made a decision that you yourself could be proud of. Not just to be deviant but to be compliant yet unique. I love the message and how it gives awareness.

Sincerely,
