Twisted Logic

Twisted Logic

A Poem by Ralphy
"

To all my friends that drive me nuts...smile

"

Twisted Logic

The other day
I saw the sun,
in its immaculate beauty,
perched in the sky,
so far away.

I smiled as it
appeared to arch
across the heavens
as it greatness
tired my eyes…
fading off to sleep.

The next day
the same picture,
beauty and warmth
as it sailed across the sky
and once again,
faded off to sleep.

 This time when I awoke,
the sun was gone,
and I grew cold,
wondering where
that masterpiece disappeared.
My yellow ball of fire
was replaced with a smaller,
white ball of light
and a bunch of tiny
holes in the blackness.

I asked a friend
sitting alongside of me
what happen to the great ball of fire, and he said.
“It is night now; the sun doesn’t come out at night.”
I just laughed and responded.
“Sure, you think I was born yesterday.”

The friend just looked at me,
with a silly grin
but I brushed it off
because I knew the true secrets
about the sun.

I just couldn’t understand
why someone would
go through all that trouble
to wallpaper the sky

Interesting piece...in the end verses I could picture the whole thing. Well done!

Nice writing and concept. I used to think someone ate the moon (ya know, cheese) whenever it was waning. I enjoyed the imagery in this piece. It seems rather innocent...
