Despensing Anger

Despensing Anger

A Poem by Ralphy
"

This prose is for friends and all those that need to escape when something is really unfair and anger overtakes one mind, and soul. Here I use metaphors to capture the anger and despense it.

"

Dispensing Anger

The day seemed bright

and sunny until clouds

began to gather,

electrifying the air,

causing vapors to dance

through the sky.

Each cloud soaked

the atmosphere

with heavy moister and high winds.

In just a few moments,

rain began to shower

like buckets washing down.

The rain became harder,

shoveling soil in big scoops,

pushing it over the side

of the mountain.

The water sailed the embankment

carving a violent path

of destruction downward.

In a fraction of a second,

the thriving roar,

ripped trees from their roots,

moved large boulders like small rocks,

sending them rolling forcefully

into the mountain creek.

Along the path,

trees split, limbs snapped as if twigs

and rocks pulverized into pebbles

as a new foundation formed

removing the scared face

that lingered in the mind’s eye.

The creek hurdle into the river,

reminisces of the mountain

was no longer a threat,

for in the awaking of the sun,

the anger had subsided

and joy once more filled the land.

Anger can be that destructive, if we just let it pour forth like a rainstorm. Got to harness that energy, turn it into something positive If that doesn't work, the hell with it! Ha! Barbara

A metaphor with a lot of different changes... Nicely written, which took thought. Provoked an impulse in the readers mind which is rare here. Liked your style

Quite the extended metaphor, Ralphy! :)

Sometimes good things arrive out of darkness and we get something we didn't ask for but needed. A wonderfully expressed poem.
