When the Spring Died

When the Spring Died

A Poem by Balkaran Sidhu

I know of no birds
who sing in autumn
As none have existed
Like my own voice,
a beatless tribute to your absence.

My silent love speaks,
whispers to all the pale, fallen leaves
as some chill touches my heart.

Where are those spring days
when my love ripened
where is the daylight bliss of sun.
Where I meant to know of love.

May be its all gone now

like choruses to blended hopes,
with reverie of spring breeze
Am left stuck in a tear drenched attire
where my youth shivers.

My wisdom taught me of love.
And I taught to strangers who didn't knew
and now they send me home

Accusing me for not knowing love.

I smiled and cried at faded days
and now I have the last glance of love

that may soon be a memory.

Your rueful absence sinks my heart

more into an unknown sea

Far from the places where I dig my grave...
