Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Bane

To laugh
To weep
To wake
To sleep
These choices seem so small
Are no longer my choice at all
To dream
To care
To scream
Emerging from my own nightmare
What is real and to be seen
Or deeper facets in a dream
To fight
To run
Take flight
And turn
Please snatch me from this lucid state
Pull me from the fear and hate
To breath
To try
No knowing if to live or die
My eyes flutter
I'm gulping air
My body shutters
I'm almost there
Just a dream is all it seems
Skirting on reality
I am safe at least for now
Until the sun is going down
The nightmares will return again
Greeting me
Their long lost friend
To pull my flesh
To twist my brain
Re-education
Only pain
