A Mask for a Crow

A Mask for a Crow

A Poem by Bane

I would wear a mask and never show
To hide my face from a crow
These feelings I was forced to hide
In a crawl space deep inside
These thoughts of love and happiness
With reciprocation left to guess
I hated to hide how I felt
Scared of how cards could be dealt
Is this what I always wanted
For in my dreams, this crow, she haunted
To role the dice, to take a risk
Longing just for one kiss
Now my mask is tossed and burned
And only for this crow I yearn
Hoping she will recognize
The need, the passion in my eyes
Always held back by circumstance
Now I have my only chance
When given the choice to be free
This miraculous crow, chooses me

this is the most beautiful expression of affection I've ever read. I think that crow met her match.

That was enchanting. I normally don't care for this rhyme scheme -- despite the fact that I use it sometimes -- but I was really fond of it here with the powerful words you incorporated. It has a dark fantasy element to it that really lured me in, and it flows beautifully. Amazing job. This really deserves more reviews.
