INSIDE A POETS MIND

INSIDE A POETS MIND

A Poem by Bear

            Picture "Education" by Tito Salomini

Balanced on the hands of time
I struggled with my thoughts looking for a rhyme
Deep wisdom of philosophers past
In their enlightenment I tried to bask
Then the romantic classics came to mind
But words on statues and ruins I could not find
So to the mysteries of myth and magic I did turn
Where Stonehenge and druids in my mind did burn
But up in smoke my thoughts faded from view
I wonder now what kind of poem I should do
Maybe to space and the last frontier I should go
There are things out there that man will never know
Or should I write on the things that I know the best
Friends, fights and feelings and throw out the rest
So many things to write about in here can I find
At play on the playground inside of my mind

'INSIDE A POETS MIND'
Bear,
I enjoy occasionally finding a new writer,(new to me and like to start with a first poem.) Your poem is so nice as it is about your own thoughts not other people's. The thing that is so good about inspiration though is that we can become enlightened and get ideas from these sources. We all write from what we feel. Great poem!
Blessings,
Kathy

I believe we write our best stuff if we live long enough. The Jack London and Hemingway. Lived than wrote their best work. I believe we can write when we are young. Young person poetry is different. Youth make us dream. You can be young and create too. War, struggle, love and what we read. I believe the best writer had read the ancient writers and new writers. Need both to balance thoughts. I tell people like Dryden said. Write, write and write some more. I enjoyed your poetry. Made me think this early morning.
