Pathetic Poet

Pathetic Poet

A Poem by Jennifer Ellen

Tap,
Tap,
Tap,
The pen hits the paper,
Thinking,
Of just the words to write,
To explain the feelings that are hidden inside,
The pain of the lying world,
The words of the backstabbing friend,
The drama of high school life,
And stuck all in this,
Is the fragile pathetic poet,
That needs the words,
The poem lines,
And all the times,
Crying,
Not knowing how to explain the feelings,
Captured in my heart,
Stuck,
Only to escape through my pen,
Through the ink that's runs onto the page,
But yet,
This Pathetic Poet,
Doesn't know what words to write anymore,
She's just-
She's just lost for....
Words.

This perfectly captures a writer in the horrendous nightmare of the block, so kudos on that. You precisely portrayed the feelings that come from not being able to write.

A couple of things that are bugging me, though, is that you only used commas with no periods, so it makes the poem into one long sentence. Another problem, is that there are only 3 periods in ellipses, not 4. But other than that, I loved it! Added to my library.

About
I am a beautifully broken poet. I wonder why the world has so much hate in it. I hear my heart beat loud as I look at what’s to come in my life. I see the words from my heart flow out and ont.. more..
