Eternal

Eternal

A Poem by Beautifully Tragic xPoetry Queen
"

Got this in my head after listening to Evanescence's Eternal

"

Love is eternal
A bond you can’t escape
An unending romantic journey
Sweeping you off your feet

Succumbing to the poison
Inside of cupid’s arrow
Following your heart
Straight down to your lover’s path

Almost like a curse
You are bound the one you love
In shackles and chains
Like a slave waiting for duties
To be done

Storms rage
As the fires of desire burn
Thunder rumbles with excitement
As the lightning of love strikes

Good enough or strong enough
Can’t help but wonder these things
In a love so precious
A dream world,
In an awaking state
A world in which to never escape

Rain pours,
As the thunder does roar
With an ocean of tears
Drowning in the pain
Of raging storms

Remaining together
A love that can last forever
For love is eternal.

Love your metaphors, and your expression of love ..the wondering , all that goes with love a very complex four letter word.

Love, at times, can either make us or break us.
It defines who we are as a person, an individual.
If we truly love, if we lose ourselves in the passion and rage of love, there is the fear of never getting that uniqueness back. We will forever be two, not one.
Yet, at the same time, there are many who would anty up their soul, just to be able to touch/breath life into a union so binding, such as that.
Then there are many still who are terrified of losing too much, of giving up too much of who they are inside.
Yet love can also make us more. Make us want more, desire more and reach for more. For bigger and brighter things.
Love can be punishing, cruel, vicious and violent.
It can be all consuming, losing us in its all encompassing glow.
Sweet, subtle, raging and powerful.
Love has many, many forms.
~smile~
And I believe, that here, you have expressed exactly that.
Wonderful.

There is the truth of love. It is not the moonlit nights walking hand in hand. That is familiarity, comfort..... Love is the passion that drowns within the ocean of tears you write. For those strong and brave enough to face the tempest the death of self may just open the door of eternal possibility. Good work. Thank you for the read. And for the image of Amy Lee sharing a moment eternal with me.

True love always survives the "storms," you did a nice job with showing us the ups and downs, the passions and the frustrations :)
