Free-flowing and a bit personal....

I listen to my own thoughts

Hearing the voices of creation

The demons that haunt

And stay within my mind

I hear your voice,

Standing out above the rest

Giving me so many promises

Of eternal love and passion.

 

I should have known better

Than to put my trust in you

My world became a living hell

The day I fell for you.

Decieving lies,

All that runs through my head,

Penetrating my fragile heart.

 

There were never any promises

Of eternal love and passion. Only lies.

Trust, when lost, could be such a painful experience.
It's nearly impossible to believe how the same part of us that can give so much pleasure could turn on us and stab us in the back.
Great emotional song, about one of the grandest and most despised of emotions.
It truly shows that it's free flow, as stated.

Well said. We find that the emptiness that is left after the lost of the purity of ourselves is taken away becomes an echoing place of regret. Hind sight is 20 20 is the truest words we could know in these moments of life and love. We should or could fill your mind and leave us feeling like a fool having no one else to blame but ourselves.
