Dying Beauty

Dying Beauty

A Poem by Beautifully Tragic xPoetry Queen

In the hazey summer heat,

Relaxing in the shade of my gazebo

Gazing at the surrounding beauty

That holds my eyes in embrace

Lost in her trance of wonder

To feed any artist's wild imagination.

Deep blue sapphires filling her canvas

With just a touch of snow.

The clouds that can morph into anything

As they softly float across the vast ocean of blue.

No care, no worries in a world of their own.

She knows just how to make a person

Feel small, like pawn in her own chess game.

So much power, yet can be so calm.

Anger and violence,

Keeping human nature in their place.

I can't help but wonder about her strength.

As I see human nature taking advantage,

Money and greed over the natural resources

Wars and bombs, igniting the flames of hatred.

As her creatures slowly cease to exist.

I often wonder if her power is any match

For what the future of humanity has in store

As I hold close to the death of beauty.

Darkness and light,

Quiet and violent,

I remind myself ---Nature rules over all.
