New way to bleed

New way to bleed

A Poem by Beautifully Tragic xPoetry Queen

I never thought it was possible

To be so eternally broken

Trying to pick up every piece

The good that is left of me.

A worthless failure,

You've drilled those words

Into my mind for too long

Still, stabbing at my heart every time.

A slave to my dreams,

Hanging on to this life by a thread.

But it is worn and ready to break

Running extremely thin.

I've told myself repeatedly

For every stab of this aching heart

Teaching myself to move forward again

Only to be torn apart.

Drowning in an endless sea

The only thing that's comforting

As I fall apart, and lose control

Lost in this city of delusion.

Trapped in these sad cliches

A rose withering and fading away

So tired of building up these walls

To have them come crashing down on me.

Is this the end of everything?

Or just a new way to bleed.

When we try to heal somehow life has a way of stabbing us in the back. Painful the reality is but we must continue forward even if we need to "bleed in a new way." That's a lesson we must learn and this poem is an example.

Emotional, sad piece. I loved the line "a rose withering and fading away". Nicely done.
