Change of Pace

Change of Pace

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey
"

Teen Pregnancy

"
Lonely places,
Expressionless faces.
Nights full of hatred.
No one to turn too,
She hide the scars,
To please the masses.
She turned away,
With nothing but hate,
Never once to afraid to stray.
She looked in the mirror,
and cursed her reflection.
A night spent alone,
The struggles she faces,
She learned some of lifes greatest lessons.
A baby to bare,
A friend that cared.
She looked at life with new eyes.
It wasn't so bad,
She would never trade places.
For that day she found,
Her life was precious.
So eager to help,
Save people from themselves.
She took a stand,
And never turned back.
She loves herself,
And that is all that counts.
One mistake,
Turned her around.

Author's Note

Alicia Hirshey
Teen Pregnancy is one of America's biggest downfalls. But just because a teen is pregnant does not make them any less of a mother than you or I. Like I was always told, "Motherhood: All love begins and ends there."
