Dear Mr. President

Dear Mr. President

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey
"

It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you." ~Author unknown, sometimes attributed to M.Grundler

"

Take their homes,

Take their money.

These people are heroes,

No one finds this funny.

You run around,

With nice fancy things.

A brand new home.

Let’s see you survive over there.

These people are dying,

Protecting you and me.

This is how you repay them?

By ignoring their needs.

I hate to say it,

But freedom isn’t free.

They didn’t have to join.

Fighting is a way of life.

Why should you stand by

While these men and women die?

Take their homes,

Take their glory.

Take their money,

This isn’t funny.

Fighting for what they believe.

Protecting you and me.

No matter how you see it.

Freedom isn’t free.

How can we stand for this? First it's take God out of schools, now it's freeze military pay rates. I cannot believe this. A nationwide protest is what is needed. They should be ashamed. How does it feel sitting in the safety of the white house while my brothers risk their lives every day and now with a freeze on their rates? Maybe you should take a pay rate freeze mister president
