Castle In My Dreams

Castle In My Dreams

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

How I wish I was there,
In the days of knights and ladies fair,
and castles so high,
that the touch the sky.
Shining armor-a magic spear,
A strong, brave heart that knows no fear.

In the garden,
A dragon hides,
To eat the princess, who will be my bride.
When I, with my magic spear do send,
His firey breath to an end.
With the princess at my side,
On my gallant horse we ride.

Down in the dungeon stair I creep,
To free a prisoner while he sleeps.
That eveil wizard casting spell,
And evil deeds to bad to tell.

While I across the mote do leap,
With alligators snapping at my feet,
With my magic sword they can't defeat.
But this is how our tail comes to an end.
For once again,
I wake from sleep.

Written after talking to my little brother. It's funny what talking to a 9 year old will put into your head.
