Vision Correction

Vision Correction

A Poem by Alicia Hirshey

Blurred outlook
Fade into red
Taking back everything
Leaving hatred misled
Turn me into something
But not what I'm not
Hold the ribbon
While I unfasten the knot

Bind myself
With memories well known
Let them haunt
My very soul
Torment and giggle
As the like what they see
My memories were mine
Taken long ago
Stashed in a self
When i longed to let go

Backing to this edge
One final push
"Why don't you die"
This way
You'll feel a rush
Giving into words
With meaning nobody knows
Keep me dangling
In this horror show

Keep to myself
Let my insides bleed
Do you
Feel the darkness
That has overcome me?
Spit in my face
Your venom will die
As will your
Picture perfect life

Depression madness
This may be true
Don't judge something
Because to you it isn't true
The darkness is real
The hole never leaves
I can't even remember
My last full nights sleep

Sorry for mocking
I'm just feeding your game
Leave it alone
And it will all fade away
