The Lovely Truth

The Lovely Truth

A Poem by Bella Grecia

Love, is it a four-letter word?

Is it more than the beat of a heart?

Why does a frame travel bodies of water to search for you?

Love, why do you make heart of stones thaw and skulls turn ?

Why do you make the caterpillars in the depths of our cave turn into butterflies?

What is the hazard within you?

Love, are you the key for the gates of vulnerability?,

Are you the ugly green monster hiding in the pits of our being?,

Or the constant bickering with our silhouette?,

Love, what makes you so crucial?

Are you what race can't breathe and reflect without?

Your existence is essential just as the oxygen that humanity breathes,

Hey love? That is what makes you deadly, yet oh so lovable

love is what people put into it, people walk away from love. Love never walks away. Least that is my opinion. I enjoyed your write.

This offering seems to be a contemplation of the nature of love. A lot of good imagery here. The speaker asks many questions to make us think. I must ask, though, is the love that turns caterpillars into butterflies the same as the ugly green monster?
