Love on the web

Love on the web

A Poem by William J. Marsh
"

Falling in love on-line

"

Like a small boy on Christmas eve

For your mail I wait to receive

My eyes on my inbox, I can not leave

*

Did you think about me in your dreams

Only a day has passed, though forever it seems

This time apart can separate our hearts, by no means

Your words are like the dancing of tiny moon beams

Dancing on the still water of my dreams.

*

Though we have never met eye to eye

nor face to face bye and bye

My thoughts of you are numerous as the stars in the sky

My love for you flies higher than high

Yet higher, higher than angels can fly

*

When we meet at last

And all the dreams become the past

In my arms I will hold you fast

 *

And then forever

We shall be together

Simply in love with each other

This is a blissful poem of love. It gives the rapture of loving a person based off what they say and not just by what we see. In this world of visual stimuli you speak of simple communication. Falling for someone and longing to hear from them. To steal a line from Bogart "This is the stuff that dream are made of"

Wow, this poem flows so smoothly, it makes me wish it kept going. Very lovely and romantic. Excellent job! The verses are nicely worded too. Waiting to have and hold that someone you love, is one of the most wonderful, yet difficult things to go through. Keep up the beautiful expression!

I had to read this after posting a poem on a similar theme, but this is a truly romantic piece, well written with nice rhyming. Oh the power of words. Nice poem William :)

Turning black words on a screen from someone hidden within technology into poetry fantasy romance is a dangerous theme. Although, you articulate beautifully what everybody wants and needs, reality is rarely what we read, especially upon the internet.

Beautiful love poem with wonderful rhyme. I am living proof that love can be found on the internet.. I've done it twice... one has passed me by after 4 yrs, the other has endured a nearly 12 yr marriage. Good luck to you!

This was very sweet....I enjoyed feeling the anticipation of seeing your special someone face to face....the way you described their words as the
"dancing of tiny moon beams
Dancing on the still water of my dreams.", was just lovely....the perfect touch....
Thank you for sharing...

This is beautifully written. I'm sure we have all been there a few times falling for someone online. It's like that longing for someone that you fell for because of who they are. You end up talking and getting a connection that's just so strong. After while the feelings just come.

How truly poetic and spoken like a true romantic. Online love...been there..done that... I know that feeling...constantly checking my mail. Of course now I just watch the front door, but it is still just as exciting when it opens. I really enjoyed this, it's going in my library :)
