On Fire

On Fire

A Poem by William Michael Reeves
"

Parallelismus Membrorum

"
Fire elevates a species in the progression of inspiration.
Fire may destroy a species, combusting in progression.

A pinecone waits for a flame to seed a planet.
A flame extinguishes hope built by worlds.

Light is cast in mesmerizing beauty.
Light is lost in the vacuum of desolation.

Fusion creates life.
Fusion negates life.

Tragedy lites upon ingenuity.
Tragedy burns in the hearts of loss.

Sunrise awakens memories shared.
Sunset rests on our grief.

Incendiary thought motivates change.
Incendiary action corrupts precedent.

Embers spark imagination.
Embers spread death.

Ashes memorialize our lives well lived.
Ashes are all we'll have if we live as we have.

Seemed like the whole planet was on fire there for awhile. But where would we be without it?

you mind was at one time focused on fires, destruction, embers. "embers spark imagination"....there are so many vivid descriptions of life and it's good and bad, it's faults and it's positives... too many o mention but very well done; food for thought indeed! Thanks for sharing WM!

Yes it did seem as though the end of the world was happening
Definitely the worst fires in my 87 years
Someone - somewhere in my distant life said that it had been predicted that earth would end in a huge fire ball
