Silly Little Girl

Silly Little Girl

A Poem by Serenity Faith
"

A poem about my clever daughter Kairi~yes like from Kingdom Hearts~She's the coolest kid I know ^_~

"
I have an interesting daughter
she's as clever as can be
the things she says and does
at the young age of three

But that's how she is
causing a smile to grow
or making my mouth drop
from all the things she knows

When she was little
first learning to speak
she'd watch the Aristocats
it was constantly on repeat

"Happy body, happy body
happy body, beee a cat!"
She'd sing so loudly
I'd happily join the act

She'd walk around like Mommy
pretending the remote was a phone
she'd be talking to her Daddy too, saying
"When are you gonna be home?"

She's a sweet little kid
with such a huge heart
a whirlwind of emotions
I hope they never part

Her smile's one of kind
She'll tell me not to cry
then she'd grab a washcloth
and gently dab at my eyes

She's my princess ballerina
she's watched me practice dance
though she's decided she'll teach me
saying "Momma, take this stance."

I swear she's just the coolest
she even knows how to snap
how many kids do you know
that are capable of that?

My daughter's so creative
she has a certain glow
I told her to straighten her shoes once
instead she formed a rainbow

She doesn't always listen
sometimes she drives me wild
but I will always lover her
my spunky little child

"She's yet to kill my fish though"
I'd tell my own Momma happily
She'd just laugh of course
then say "she reminded her of me"

My Itty Bitty's one of a kind
I love watching her play
those wheels inside her head
they'd turn every-which-way

She knows when her birthday is
numbers and colors too
I doubt there will be anything
that she's not able to do

I could go on and on
like a clam about it's pearl
instead I'll leave it at this
I simply love my silly little girl

Author's Note

Serenity Faith
She just yet again made me smile, so this just kinda came to me. My inspiration was from her pointing to the TV and saying "Momma! I wanna watch emo!" "You mean you wanna watch Nemo." I corrected her laughing. "Yeah, Nemo." She smiled as if that's what she said the first time. The picture is actually from when I told her to organize her shoes. She ran up to me saying, "Mommy come look! I made a rainbow." I'm a proud Mommy, can't you tell? ^_^

I CAN tell!! Beautiful tribute to your daughter..... If you are 20, does that mean you got married when you were 13 in grade school, if married 7 years? This poem is like the perfect tribute/Mother's Day/keepsake poem. Very cute..... xoxo -Mark

So precious! You write from your heart about what you are feeling in these days, your words will be even more priceless when she has grown and these times are gone. When I read my journals from those days, I am so thankful that the moments did not evaporate without leaving the verbal snapshots. I love the rainbow shoe arrangement...so like my little one (now in her twenties!) who would arrange all dolls and bears for a party under the table - then, recite their names and what they liked. This brought back so many memories...a joy to read and experience!

Aww!! So sweet! She sounds like such a sweetheart! When you said she made a rainbow I didn't quite know what you meant until I saw the picture. That's so cute! Who would do that? She even seems to find something creative to do to shoes!
I smiled reading this poem :)

This is beautiful! Your love comes shining through, and your words make her personality shine through, also! She sounds like an old soul to me! What a wonderful muse!

Why is it, when Mothers write about their children the positivity shines through from the first line? No complaint in that. A true delight of a poem. Loved every line of it, smart clever, funny and so well written. Wonderful job
