As The People's Prince

As The People's Prince

A Poem by BlackPrince

Like Princess Diana

As The People's Prince, eyes and ears of the street,
here to defend the lives and fears of the weak,
driven by love and truth for humanity
since we're all concerned for democracy,
I'll speak what the mute assign me to speak:
curse leaders who choose who'll live and die next week,
with no food for the poor or bed for the sick!
Why fear my Ghetto Aristocracy
as the People's Prince
accountable to them in works beyond speech?
Since their taxes feed us and their kids must eat,
you, so-called presidents, pope and royalty
placed there by the residents' hope and loyalty,
what just plan do you draw for me that's concrete,
as The People's Prince?

Great, meaningful words here, BlackPrince. Pulsing musicality and beat drive the message home. You speak for the voiceless- “I’ll speak what the mute assign me to speak:”- yes. Your poem is an anthem for an ‘expendable population’ struggling in our cement cities and poor, dying towns. I applaud your challenge to the powers that be to feed the hands that elect them. Your truth is an anthem. Kudos to you.

You are very welcome. I loved it!
most of our leaders are bitter disappointments as People's princes....
powerful statement here...we elect to protect...and then become the victims of politic games.
