Cautious blasphemy in my eyes
I'm so lost, I want to die
Feel my heart beat on the floor
I don't want it to beat anymore
The dead do dance when they're alone
The worst kind of pain I've ever known
Hidden behind a false display
So you won't also feel this way

Tangled in memories and thoughts
It's getting my mind tied up in knots
I'm not really alive you see
The dead inside is the real me
Now I lie tattered and torn
Wishing that I was never born
Now I leave with one thing to say
I hope that you never feel this way

Excellent piece Blake. The imagery of the person on the floor is brings to mind the fact the person is already dead, which is just reinforced in the next stanza. The rhyming couplets work well. All in all a very good poem.

I really like this poem. I think that so many people have felt this low, including me at times, and it is just a relief I guess to know that there are others who have felt the same way. Sometimes we just feel so alone in our misery and we never let anyone else know, and everyone else does the same, so we just feel isolated within ourselves. Thank you for sharing this.

this is a real sad poem Blake but well written and shows how some people end up feeling dead inside. I also think this is how some depressed people end up feeling, like nothing in there life really matters.
