place

as if
they had
become
more beautiful
because of
it

for if
such transference
were possible
it would
go in
the opposite
direction

not that
they had
become
more beautiful
for having
gone to
the place

but that
the place
had become
uglier while
they were
there

This is interesting for me to read right now after just having come back from a trip to Alaska. Haha! It is true though, when people brag about their experience it only cheapens the beauty of the experience. Better to just enjoy what you witnessed, let it inspire you if it does, and not rub it in the faces of others.

Interesting, however, I have to say, in general, places do become uglier when more people visit them. I just think it doesn't work the other way around.
