Get Up and Get Love

Get Up and Get Love

A Poem by Blake Q Hatfield
"

Inspired by a line from a friend's blog (I put a star beside it)

"

Well I can see
That you're in need of someone
I know that you need to find the other part of your heart
But my dear you gotta get up and go
You can't always expect the fates to come to you

You won't meet anyone at all in your living room*
There is no bar at the end of the couch
You gotta get up, you gotta get out
And try to find that someone now
Before time runs out

Baby I know it's hard
Trying to start life and find your way
You've overcome all those things in your way before
This is no different my friend
You gotta keep in the game
You have to play to win

You won't meet anyone at all in your living room
There is no bar at the end of the couch
You gotta get up, you gotta get out
And try to find that someone now
Before time runs out

There are so many places that you could be
But you've let fear and reservations keep you at bay
I know that sometimes it's hard to let past hurt go
But you've gotta get out there and try
Love does not find those who will not seek it out
So go out and search, no regrets to leave behind

You won't meet anyone at all in your living room
There is no bar at the end of the couch
So get out and try
You have nothing to loose but your loneliness
And all the love you want to gain

Ahh, I definitely know that feeling. Getting back on the horse can be a tough transition to make....
I'm assuming this a song, with the repeated lines being the chorus, but I could be wrong.
Either way, the repetition serves as a nice reminder to the entire purpose of the piece.
In its simplicity, it is perfect.
Great write.
