Feed me

Feed me

A Poem by Kat Williams
"

another exercise..looking for motivation for writing

"

Feed me

I’m seeking substance

Not t***y and milk

Or bread and butter

But mental

Manipulations

and

stimulations

Of a higher level

Base mode

Satisfied long time ago

Now my brain

Slash intellect

Now my ego

Slash self-love

Wants to be fed

With cups of

words

and

Bowls of

sentences

Plates of

discussions

And side dishes of

metaphoric

Mish mash

Dribbled over

With plans

To achieve more

Than

Even if they never bear

Fruit

Feed me

Tell me more of you

And why we happen to

Connect

Feed me

While explaining to me the

Why and wherefores

Of modern

Day

Loving

And

Living

In olden times

Feed me similes

Like my mind is

And my heart is

And my

Soul

Is

Fill in the blank

Feed me

Grab a newspaper

And share with me

The good

Peace on earth

Good will to all women

Love seekers page 22

Love sellers page 23

It’s all the same ain’t it?

The bad

War

What is it good for

Murder page 1

Gun sellers page 2

It’s all the same ain’t it?

Email me a link

That showcases

An article

That made you

Cry

I want to

That made you

Laugh

I want to

That made you

Want to send it to me

I want to

Be fed

So feed me

you

I just had this conversation with someone this morning. How I look at things so much more differently now that I'm getting older. I want more substance, I desire mental stimulation, whereas in my younger days it was all about the physical. Intellect is a big turn on for me! The things that you spoke about in this piece was sooooo me, lol. You sure we not cousins?

I can imagine you reading this out loud in some cafe, it has that sense of spoken word-esque feel to it, its rythym synchipated with your emotional highs and lows, then crescendos--and stops... yet leaving the reader wanting more, to know, to feel, to scream--more! I also hunger for that kind of feeding, Ms. Kitty, almost daily--guess it's the reason why we write... great piece.

I like this. Usual if I say it in a poem (I hungry) I kinda mean something else. Not real harsh. Just a less intense physical feeling.

Peace on earth
Good will to all women
Love seekers page 22
Love sellers page 23
That's funny and reminds me when I'm scanning the paper for just that.
I like the thinking behind this. Like give me more than just what I see. To find someone mentally stimulating is hard but worth the effort.
Nice one!
