the green outside

the green outside

A Poem by charlotte
"

a poem about the colour green , the grass and the tree's

"
Covering the land
A green fluffy looking carpet
A cushion of sorts
For our different sized feet
To tread
With our carefully chosen shoes

Many steps of pavement
And our eyes are casting aside
To the many strands of green
Looking our way
Not only on ground
But up above
Through the branches of the tree’s
The many green looking leaves
Stirring gently in the breeze

A field over there
Underfoot a family of sheep
And the next field, its neighbor
Withstanding many a standing horse

Green grass, holding itself so gracefully
even when the rain shoots on down
made to sway in the out of control wind
strong at the roots
laughable, and happy in the sun
and refreshingly soaked to the skin
by a shower
thrown intentionally out of the overcast sky

a green cushion
softly shaped leaves
all staying in place
as we walk by their side
cast our feet out, over foot
the green furry land
which so much, inhabits our home

It is so strange now how people tend to cover over grass with concrete. It's like discarding nature and all her beauty. Kids don't know that the countryside exists. Sadly some don't even know where milk comes from. But grass plays a large part in nature, it looks great, even if I have to keep cutting it.
