My Life On Mars

It just came to me

I miss my life on mars.
I miss that brief time I could see the stars.
I miss the waves flowing beneath my feet.
And the sight of the Milky way,
Oh so sweet.
I miss the stars above,
Twinkling beyond my dark handed glove.
I miss the smell of your cigarette,
And the smoke as it clouded around your dark silhouette.
I miss your tales of love and hurtful things,
And how you desperately searched for wings.
I miss you and all that your soul brings.
Will you come back to me from afar,
And take me back to my life on mars?

ANYHOW, this was a very light and bubbly read! It made me feel a sense of longing, like a deep homesickness. You wrote this very well and Im very impressed.

I feel like I want to blast off with Cutie Honey in a cartoon rocket!! : ) I love what deals with space, whether it's metaphorical or not. But to attach these feelings and needs to things that "ground" us here on Earth as far as relationships go and our relation to trying to understand why they are missed when they are gone, transcends all experiences and ages. This was fun to read...... I have a few friends that live up by Norway and Northern Germany, and their poems remind me of this one with writings about the culmination of Earth/space/love/adventure.... xoxo -Mark

This piece is odd , but good . I can relate to the emotions in it , because I have often felt like I wanted to go back to a familiar place where i felt secure . In a way this piece kind of reminds me of the anime Cowboy Bebop , lol .

Lol I love Cowboy Bebop, and, yes, most of my pieces will resemble that particular anime because of a part of its plot line: earth destroyed.

idc about cussing . I'm pagan , bad wrods don't exsist in my world . there's only formal and informal communication . Another really funny anime is Durarara . it's serious like cowboy bebop , but it was a lot of humorous moments .

There is something about this that is so unique. It's elusive and strange. Not entirely dark but sinister of sorts. Like a trap for a small timid creature, baited with those first lines and as it nibbles, it is overcome with a certain sense of dread; beneath the surface of it's consciousness it parallels the last lines as it perceives a scent that denotes danger, excitement and a starry-eyed longing for something that remains just out of reach. ...and you thought you couldn't write good poetry?? :o)
