Grand Ocean

The sky goes dark,

The lights come on,

Grand ocean reflect till morn.

And bring with you the mysterious creatures of high tide,

All blasphemed from the ocean with a ride.

Glowing moon,

Control the sea,

Take out that far away light I see,

So that the stars may dance and shine for thee.

Billions of white specs upon the surface of the dark deep,

Their light doth glow upon the shipwrecks with a sweep.

For the lost men,

The stone woman doth weep,

Because the ocean took her heart to keep.

Overlooking the city lights, waxing poetic on that frightful sight and knowing that hearts are broken there each night. Well, that's pretty much what I got from it... that and the plaintiff prayer to a mute moon that seems to provide no indication of near-term succor. You see what I see. Was it worthwhile? Did it make us smile? Probably not. Let's get some cardboard and think of what it might become.

Were you standing beside a statue of a woman that waits for her sailor/captain that will never return - a monument to those lost at sea? Across the harbor the city lights spoiling and otherwise excellent moment of both emotional and visual reflection. Of course I'm just fantasizing another interpretation. ...thought I'd add that for good measure. ;-)
