Late Night Walks

Late Night Walks

A Poem by Bottle of Wit
"

My thoughts on my way home from school.

"
By nighttime I drown
In the blur of the town
I would sink to the strums
Of guitars and the hums
Of the cold wind that blows
Through my hair and my nose
I walk through the city,
My demons stride with me.
The faces I pass
Disappear just as fast
As the cars racing by
In a blink of an eye
All alone in this sea
Of strangers who, like me,
Go along with the flow
Or against, I don't know.
My thoughts drift away
With every step I sway
A thought says, walk ahead
Another says, turn instead
My demons fought inside
What's left of my sane mind
I am lost once again
Getting close to the bend.
Now where do I go?
Would other people know?
Are they as lost as I?
I close my eyes and sigh
I move aside my fears
Hear the sound in my ears
For now I'm going home
Till my next trip alone.
