a brittle lack

of anecdotes

no stories rich

to tell

there is no

life experience

on which a soul

could dwell

no interesting statistics

no self-fulfilling data

to fill a puny paragraph

This was an interesting read. at first I read it to myself and it felt sad... very sad, a life with deep regret.

Then I read it aloud and it felt like such a fast moving piece... I can almost imagine it as a Hip Hop or Rap piece (and I hope you don't take offence to that)... I just mean that each line packs a real punch if you read it with an aggressive attitude..

I can really relate to the self-loathing and despair I sense is between the lines here. The short lines, suggesting lots of activity but little achievement? The allusions and imagery are despondent and dark, which I like for their effectiveness and empathy. At least, I found them compelling - perhaps you were writing a poem for me, or using my life as a model? =) This is very introspective, yet passionate with a sense of detachment at the same time. I know how hard that is to achieve - this is simply brililant writing.
