The Sacrifice

The Sacrifice

A Poem by Breaga O'Callaghan
"

When it's your life at stake, which side should you choose?

"

She glares with anger in her eyes,

A deep, dark fear lurking inside.

Too scared to yet again flee,

As for her freedom I am the key.

I hold the secrets from the past,

When years ago a spell was cast.

And whilst trying to escape my life,

I ended up in all this strife.

A war between ancient enemies,

One side of which my death shall free.

Although nothing makes sense to me yet,

My heart grows heavy with leaden dread.

Sometime we can't win in the decisions we must make. We can't win in any direction we decide. The poem described a battle where no-where can win. I could feel the pain and the sadness in the words. Thank you for the excellent poem.
