In A Dungeon

In A Dungeon

A Poem by Breana Seabrooks

In a dungeon is where I have you
Buried deep alongside my many dreams
That never came true.
Beside all of the things I wanted
But were too scared to pursue
Mixed with all the feelings
I wish I had for you.

In a dungeon is where I sleep at night
Crying tears that bring no solace.
And making wishes
That have no futures.
Wishing that maybe one day
When I'm ready to understand,
My life would be whole again.

In a dungeon is where I cry.
Where no one can hear me
Or my many lies.
Where no one cares
Rather I live or die.
Wasting away to rot
And I'll sleep here
On this cot.
