On the Edge

On the Edge

A Poem by Breana Seabrooks
"

A story of depression

"
No one to care
No one to love

They don't see my pain
They don't believe my hurt

To them it's a joke
Maybe just a game

But to me this is life
Something hard to claim

A tear rolls down my eyes
A whisper in the dark

It's telling me to fall
But I sit on the edge

If they tell me don't jump
I'll jump instead.

Our stubborn hearts are the worst when we get depressed, and you expressed this beautifully.

I do find, though, that time can sometimes also be a healer. Even when we "sit on the edge" in life, sooner or later, those chasms which used to scare us, do not anymore, and we find the courage to get up, and walk on the edge too..... :)

Great writing!

Smooooth, you drive the point home in the end.

I really like that you wrote "a tear rolls down my eyes a whisper in the dark". This is incredibly beautiful and I truly feel the emotions that you are conveying. The bitterness and resistance of accepting help; the silent voice one hears (thoughts) when encountering a tough decision; the pain of being in between the lines of fear and acceptance of one's fate. Great job, I'm here if ya ever need to talk.
