Dusk

Dusk

A Poem by Hayden Chambers
"

The closing of the day and disappointment in the city

"

Another evening closes

On the dirty city streets

A mirage in the moonlight

Rain soaked pavements

Hollow stone without stories

The night hides secrets here

Folds you within it's lanes

Lost in the maze

Screaming displays of shop windows

Appear empty in the evening

A waiting chasm in the dark

Silence hangs heavy, expectant

In the void of broken dreams

Lost hope, stagnant lives

A silent scream of longing lies heavy in these streets

Surrounded by people but never more alone

A good write about the plight of the homeless. The city streets are at their loneliest when often at their brightest.

Well penned Hayden
