The rain pours from the Heavens

 And eases away the pain

 It comforts with each drop

And makes it seem as though the world shares my loss

 It reflects the feelings within me

 The world would perish without the rain

 And this reminds me that in time

 I will grow a little stronger

 From the pain I feel today

And when the sun shows itself once again

 I know my pain will fade

 And better times will come

Rain wash away my pains probably one of the most used form of expression in song lyrics you will excuse my roundabout way but it sprang at me so fast plus I like writing song lyrics. In your case though there is an obvious sharing of a heavy, ardous difficult situation that you need to go through. My moment of joy is the association to the shining light not just in the material sense but also in the soul searching.
