Lose yourself

Just a poem I wrote a while back, picking out one feeling and trying to focus on it.

Lose yourself.
Let something else in.

Let it flow.

Let it try to cleanse you. 

You know it won't work.

But yet you still try.

Trying to ignore the other one.

The other one, the thorn.

It sits stuck inside you.

So you lose yourself.

Let something else in.

Let it flow.

Let it try to cleanse you.

But the thorn will always stay.

And you know it.

But yet you lose yourself.

Letting something else in.

Letting it flow.

Letting it try to cleanse you.

But the thorn will just grow deeper.

You know it.

It will grow deeper with every passing of something else.

Of the something else you let inside of you.

The one that you try to lose yourself in.

Yet you still try.

And yet there it still sits stuck.
