Portrait Of A Man

Portrait Of A Man

A Poem by Brittany

I carved you out of wood and

burned the shadows in your face

I fashioned your mouth around a knot and

found a hidding place in your grains

Beautiful. Hi! So I apologize profusely that I have not been on here to read your new stuff. I'm having a lazy day in the heat so I shall begin with this one: F**k yes. A simple response for a perfectly simple piece. I'm curious now if you've got a piece of wood with a man's face seared into it, like hanging on the wall or next to your bed?

I love this a lot. The content is simple but the way you word it is completely beautiful. I don't think people are very strong these days with the words they choose but you prove me wrong time-and-time again.
