Snippets of Ice

Snippets of Ice

A Poem by Broken.

Can comfort come from pain?

Challenges not accepted.

My only obstacle.

Why is it that even when surrounded in light,

is it still feeling dark?

I won't ever know I suppose.

But I can still bring a lighter,

everywhere I go,

so that in dark places,

I can always find light.

I wait here.

Waiting for something that will never come,

and it has only just begun.

Pools of blood fill my eyes,

and I could only hope no one sees.

The past is repeating itself,

and I almost didn't survive last time.

You can be my friend,

my safety net for when I fall.

Although you better hurry,

because I'm starting to lose the strive,

the strive to keep going.

Your poem reminds me of our struggle to accept whatever life dishes out, even if it isn't what we were expecting or wanting, but still trying to remind oneself the light must come from within becuz its often sorely lacking "out there" . . . *sigh!* Fondly, Margie
