Redefining Tragedy

Redefining Tragedy

A Poem by Brooke

My being is a book,
A tragedy at best.
I like being able to rip out the pages,
Pretending they have never existed.
My print is small and fine,
In a language completely mine.
My chapters are a mess,
I show some wear and tear.
Quite a lot of damage,
But I promise I am rare.
The first and only edition,
My cover is misleading.
And despite my poor condition,
I urge you to keep reading.

Book analogy and metaphor! yay! Love that. I frankly felt it started off a bit wonky, but the couplet in the middle really brought it on track, and the last line is killer! Well done!

This was short and sweet. I loved the playfulness of it. Nicely penned.

haha old musky books with yellow pages and weathered spines are the best!

Not that I'm calling you old and musky lol

Loved how concise and clever it is.

Conveys a lot of details in short space.

Ergo, I'll keep reading ;)

I find this both cute and inspiring in that when life is tragic, we have the power to rip the pages out and start over. I also like the tone of ownership.

Great job.

This is a unique way of describing yourself. The title of you is defining and revealing too. Some books you can never put down. I'm sure some have thought of you that way.
