Mother, Daughter

Mother, Daughter

A Poem by Bryad Polis Valentino
"

"Mother, I forgive you." The real truth that made my story begin. Jackie, I forgive you, too. You were a monster for what you did. I merely let you exist because you are a mother.

"
Mother, daughter.

One killed the other.

She didn't accept it.

Tried to be like mother.

Reunited, by a stranger.

Couldn't handle it. Daughter's dead.

She's like that.

Impossible, yet respectable.

Mother made me not hate the English.

Daughter misses her, hates her.

Mother sent her to her end.

Grim secrets, neophyte.

Found her, she ran.

Mother hates daughter.

Daughter wasn't Persephone.

Daughter wasn't perfect.

Daughter was schizophrenic.

Daughter is dead.

Neophyte blamed himself.

Grew up, now a man.

Daughter's not forgotten.

Mother is forgiven.

Mother's a real piece of work.

Mother brought in daughter.

Stop the bloodshed.

It made my best friend dead.

True tale. The Gaulish tribe barely maintains peace at this disturbing tale. Human sacrifice is wrong. "No one has the right to take the life of another." -Rem, Trigun
